Email Engagement

When your platform sends mail through the managed email service — signup confirmations, notifications, and anything your customers' apps send via the email service binding — delivery and engagement are tracked automatically: sent, delivered, opened, clicked, bounced, spam. No setup required.

Plan availability

Email engagement stats are included on Business plans and above (the Email engagement stats toggle in your plan settings). Data accrues for every plan from day one, so upgrading unlocks your history retroactively — nothing is lost while the feature is off.

Where to watch

Your customers (per-organization) — each organization on your instance sees a "Your emails" card on its Email Hosting page: 30-day totals and a per-day breakdown, scoped to mail sent for that organization, refreshed with the hourly platform sync. Before any mail is counted the card explains itself with an empty state.

What counts — and what deliberately doesn't

Engagement tracks mail the platform sends: signup and notification mail, and anything apps send through the email service. Mail sent from hosted mailboxes is private correspondence — it never passes through the tracking provider and is never counted. A mailboxes-only organization will see the empty state until an app sends mail.

You (your platform overall)kuploy.app → Organizations: a platform-wide 30-day summary (including platform mail such as signup confirmations, which belongs to no single organization). Per-organization engagement lives on each organization's own Email page on your instance.

Failures (bounced addresses) — recipients whose mail hard-bounced feed the "Email bounced" badge on your instance's admin organizations list within one platform sync — see Admin Dashboard. Recipient-level failure detail beyond the badge is handled by platform support.

Successes are silent

A successfully delivered email produces no badge and no event anywhere — it is counted into the engagement numbers above and nothing else. Quiet is the healthy state.

How to read the numbers

  • Sent / Delivered / Bounced are reliable counts.
  • Opened and Clicked are directional, not exact. Gmail's image proxy and corporate link scanners "open" and "click" mail no human saw, so treat both as trend indicators, deliberately marked with an asterisk in the panel.
  • Opens count unique opens (first open per recipient), not every re-read. All mail sent through the managed service is open-tracked — including plain-text platform mail (the mail provider injects the tracking when it builds the message).

Attribution

Mail is attributed to a specific organization when it is sent on that organization's behalf — most notably everything sent through an app's email service binding. Platform mail addressed to an individual user (signup confirmations, password resets) counts at the platform level and does not appear in any single organization's panel.

Privacy

Only aggregate counters cross between kuploy.app and your instance — never recipient addresses, subjects, or message content. Recipient-level detail exists solely in the reputation stream on kuploy.app (bounces need an address to be actionable) and stays there.
